DJ EMPRESS ALYDA

My love of being a DJ began at a Cybercafe in 1997 when I played ambient and experimental atmospheric music. Now I spin a wide variety of dance music.

MUSIC

I spin Ethereal , Darkwave, Industrial, EBM, World-Beat, trance, experimental, non-painful noise, ambient, trip hop, 80s Alternative, new wave, synthpop, powerpop and Electroclash. I gravitate towards the latest innovations in rhythmic sound. I love to support local as well as international artists by playing their music, posting their songs on playlists and booking them to perform at a club. If you are a band reading this, if you send me a press kit or cd and I like your music, if I personally am unable to book you, I will definitely try to reach other promoters who can. I'm also thankful for the support by WTII, Dancing Ferret, DivaNation, Projekt, Underground Inc., Cold Meat Industry, C.O.P. International, Cohaagen, Middle Pillar, Invisible Records, ASDR, RazerBurn and others.

PERSONAL MOMENT

I mourned the death of Muslimgauze, although strangely enough, his music keeps churning out. The most emotionaly heart wrenching concert I was fortunate enough to see was at Dead Can Dance in Portland Oregon during its Fair Well Tour. I'll always remember Lisa Gerard's ghostly figure swaying in the forground and this bouncy shaggy haired drummer who resembled Animal from the Muppets.

FETISH

I'm also known, rather by accident, as a fetish DJ. I spin primal rythmes, trance and basically sex oriented music. Previous DJ gigs include DOMINION's Fetish-a-Go-Go, Fetish-a-Girl-Girl, Taboo Fetish Ball, and Lascivious Exhibition's Ultra Spank, Erotic Arts Masquerade, and Eroticon. I've also hosted the S*X Toy Party at the Patio (BOG Prod), Madhouse Femme Fetish Night (E.A. Prod), Sinful Illuminations at Fusion, and Trauma Fetish Extravaganza Freakshow Extreme in Columbus, OH.

REQUESTS

I spin what people request (unless they request something ridiculously out of place). And if I don't have what they request, I often times put it on a list and BUY it.

MUSIC VARIETY

I spin whatever is appropriate at a club. But I can tell you I will not play country or R&B nor disco. Feel free to keep me in mind for any upcoming weddings, funerals, birthdays and other parties. Inquire my rates. :}

CONCERTS

One of my favorite crowds to spin for is a crowd attending an ethereal band concert. I've found that type of crowd to be more open to experimental ambience mixed into doom. But I have a wide variety of music tastes. You might even find me bi-polar...playing flowy ethereal and then somehow smoothly seducing without shocking into harsher pounding dance music.
I've performed around the following concerts: Black Tape for a Blue Girl, Attrition, My Scarlet Life, Cruxshadows, The Last Dance, Nimbus, Arcanta, Element, f.u.z.z., Angels and Agony, Arch Visceral Parlar, Flutter, Sardonyx, Thou Shalt Not, Endora, among others. I've been encouraged by positive comments about my spin techniques from Rogue of Cruxshadows, Alex of Thou Shalt Not and DJ Kangal as well as other artists and DJs for whom I have deep respect.

After learning and growing from my experiences in the four member then trinity partnership called B.O.G. Productions, I left just before its demise to pursue my own endeavers. I am now booking my own events as well as spinning for and working with other promoters whom I respect.
